Letter: Political spam: you're paying for it

By now, most readers will have received at least one spam letter from Gary Nairn MP. Probably several, if my circle of friends and acquaintances is anything to go by.
We have all heard about the effort the big parties put into their marginal seat data bases, so I was surprised to say the least to receive my own personal letter from Mr Nairn, telling me how much he needed MY support.
My partner, who lives at the same address, received an identical letter on the same day last week.
'There is much more to be done locally, and now I need your support to do it,' Mr Nairn's letter said.
Well, one thing that needs to be done is clean up the data base.
This would be funny if it were not being paid for by taxpayers.
Yours sincerely
